Totally Gorjuss DT card - Baby

It's Saturday (already!) so that means it is time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Our theme is Baby, Baby so put on your thinking caps and get creative! We have had so many beautiful cards since we started and we thank ALL of you for supporting our challenge blog.
The DT have done some amazing work. Sadly we say goodbye to Debs as she finishes her stint as Guest DT.
For my card there is not a stamp in sight as I have used my Sizzix dies to create my card. The bottle and baby face have had the Promarker touch to them as well.
So I look forward to seeing what you have to offer
Love Sarah X
p.s. don't forget my Blog Candy at the top of the page and please spread the word
Thanks
p.p.s sorry for poor quality photo.

Lovely Hanglar only project

Hello everyone in blogland.
I do hope all of you are well. I am having quite a creative week making lots of projects which I will be posting. My first project is here and is my entry for Lovely Hanglar only where the theme is LACE.
Instead of a card I have made a little sewing box for a friend who has just started dressmaking classes.
My ingredients are
  • Box blank from Hobbycraft
  • K & Co. papers
  • PVA glue
  • Hanglar and Stanglar image
  • Distress inks
  • lace
  • Haberdashery items
  • Pinflair glue

So basically, I covered the box blank with the papers and then covered the papers with a layer of PVA glue to seal it and give it a glossy sheen.
I coloured the Hanglar image with distress inks
Then I attached various haberdashery items to the top of the box with Pinflair glue.
Simples!
Have a great day

Card for a friends daughter

Well I have had the computer man here again for 2 hours! I really hope we are sorted now. I have had to step down from The Cowgirls DT as I couldn't fulfill all my commitments to them because of the internet provider blocking us so often. I felt it wasn't fair to them. I have spoken to Net (who i saw at the Doncaster show) who runs the Totally Gorjuss blog is she is okay and aware of my problems.

One of the girls from school asked me to make a card for her daughter who is 16. She said she liked pink. I made a selection of cards and this is one of them. Papers are Paprmania, I forget where I had the digital image from. The flourish is Sizzix and the leaves are cut from a Leone Em punch.
Hope yoyu like her
If you get time please leave a comment and I will get back to you too

Fancy a bargain?

One of the lovely ladies who comes to my card classes told me about a fantastic offer at  Imag-e-nation. They arec offering all 8 of the Flippin men stamps for £20!!!!!!  Yes that's right. What a bargain you think as they are normally £9.99 each set!
But it gets better, if you order the 8 sets for £20 they will give you for FREE all 8 of the womens stamps!!!!!!!!
So grab a bargain while stocks last.
Thank you Maggie for letting me know about this great bargain

Here is the card I made on behalf of school for the Deputy head who was retiring.

The papers are from Papermania. I really love these strong colours and they are great for mens cards. The image is LOTV coloured with Promarkers. The flowers and leaves I have made using the new Xcut punches and the "enjoy" is cut from a Sizzix die.
Have a great day

Totally Gorjuss DT card

Good Morning/afternoon
This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is CONGRATULATIONS. So we are looking forward to seeing your lovely cards. The DT have made some great cards as usual so do check them out.
I have used a stamp from Funky Kits which I have coloured with Promarkers. I can't remember whose papers I used. The edging is Martha Stewart border punch. It is a very quick and simple card this time as I have been very limited on crafting time this week. Now I have the 6 weeks holidays I can be more adventurous!

Hello my sweet friends

Ooh it was so lovely to read your comments on my last post. I am so glad to be back. This week has been hectic, but not with card making. It was the last week of term. We finished today at 3.00pm and I have just got in , mowed the lawn and thought I had better get back to some blogging and craft work! We always have a staff end of term buffet and this time I was in sole charge. I had everyone's contributions and then had to shop ( took 3 afternoons to make sure I got the best value for money), cook and then on Thursday morning layout the buffet food and tables. Another teaching assistant helped too. We work well together as we each know what jobs to do and another teacher helped with the tables and collecting the freshly made samosas. I bought white flat bed sheets to use as tablecloth's and cut out pink table mats from my Sizzix Pro. I bought some 25p beer glasses and filled them with crumbled up pink paper and put 2 pink flower stems in. I don't know why I didn't take a picture!
Finally I put some tealights on the tables too. The buffet served about 48 members of staff and was successful, with loads of food left over.
Also on Wednesday we had a staff meal out to say goodbye to 3 members of staff who were retiring. In the photo I am the one who looks huge in the black and white dress. Maxi dresses do nothing for me.I was up from 2.00 am that morning as we had to pick up one of Daniels friends so that we could take them to B/ham airport as they were going on holiday.
So a very busy week. Roll on the 6 weeks holidays!!!!!!!
Here are a few more of the samples I made for Sarah at Hotshotcrafts. If you want to buy the Kanban stamps I used there is a link at the top of my sidebar
Have a fab weekend

I'm back - no longer MIA!!!!!

Phew after what seems like a lifetime I am back on the blogging scene, but for how long I don't know.
As some of you may know we have recently had some terrible problems with out internet provider, SKY. They had blocked us  (switched us off ) twice and lo and behold they did it again a week ago Monday. They don't give us any notice, they don't email us, ring us or send us a letter. One minute we are working on the computer and the next the internet is gone completely. They won't even tell us what the problem is so that we can rectify it!!!! I can tell you we have been mad angry here in this little part of Wolverhampton! It has been devastating for my husband and daughter as a lot of work is done in the evenings on the computer and they haven't been able to do anything. I haven't been able to fulfill my DT duties (I have only just joined one Challenge blog recently on the DT team, what must they think?) and of course I haven't commented on all your blogs either. I have a lot to catch up with so please bear with me.

On to happier things. I was at the Summer Crafting show at Doncaster on Saturday and was demoing for Sarah at Hotshot crafts. She has all the latest Kanban stamps and all with FREE p+p!!! You can click on the link at the top of my side bar to order. The stamps are really good quality and some of them are very similar to LOTV. I had 2 days to make 42 cards and I am glad to say I did it! How I am not sure ,,,no housework or cooking!!!
I also got to meet the lovely Net, owner of the Totally Gorjuss blog and we had a little natter. I will try to upload a card as soon as poss Net,as long as I don't get blocked again! The day was sooooo busy,. It was like the NEC. Over the next few days I will upload some of the samples I made.
It is so good to be back. Please leave a comment as I have been very lonely this past week!!!

p.s. I have just noticed that on the first picture of me with Net I look like I have been self harming! Honestly I haven't. Those are 2 oven burns. Really, cooking is far to dangerous a hobby. It's much safer working with sharp scissors, guillotines and sharp craft knives!!!!!

Kenny K card

This is my first first attempt at a Kenny K digital image. They are so great. The theme for their first challenge is PASTELS which is lovely.
My ingredients for this card are
  • Papermania - Rose Garden papers
  • Promakers
  • Martha Stewart border punch
  • gems from Poundland
I have also followed the sketch at Papertake weekly

I may not be able to blog for the next few days as I have just got back from Sarah's shop (High Town Art shop / Hotshotcrafts) with tons of goodies. I have to make 42 cards for Thursday and the majority of them need to be stamped and coloured!!!!! It's worth visiting their website as there is free p + p on most items!
Now where did I put those Promarkers?.............
See you Love sarah XXX

Cowgirls Sunday Challenge DT card

This is the 2nd card I made for Cowgirls Sunday Challenge. Silly me didn't read the rules correctly and I made a card NOT using one of CJ's images.!!!!! So I made another one last night with a correct image!. The theme for this week is Sherbert./Ice Cream and I chose Tiramisu (coffee and cream) as my flavour inspiration.
My ingredients for the card are
  • DCWV All about Boys Stack ( my bargain from Dunelm...remember?)
  • "Boots" image from Cowgirl up digital ranch
  • Sizzix cactus and Yee Haw dies
This is the first, incorrect card I made. I hope you like both of them anyway
Enjoy the sunshine

Totally Gorjuss DT card _ water

Hi girls. How are you coping in this glorious heat?????
It's a good thing that this week our theme at Totally Gorjuss is water!!!! May make you feel cooler!
I have used a Sweet Pea stamp  ( from my blogging friend Angela ) as they are mermaidy and look like they live in the sea. I will be putting some of these up for sale on Ebay if anyone is interested, or you can get in touch with me direct.
Hope you like it.
Have a great weekend and if any of you go to the Doncaster show next weekend (17th) come and say hello to me on the Hotshotcrafts stand

My parents 51st Anniversary card

It was mum and dads 51st Anniversary a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who follow me regularly you will know my dad has not been well for a while. He is so much better now and we had a lovely family meal at Jimmy Spices in Solihull.
This is the card I made for them. It is a bit of a 2 in 1 card as it will stand up against the wall as you can see above. But, it is also an easel card

Yet another exploding box!

Good morning everyone
I was asked to make yet another exploding box for a wedding tomorrow by the brides mother. The colour theme is black, white and fuschia pink!. I was given free run on this one although I was told the groom loves cars. So here is what I came up with. I have photos of each layer of the box before I assembled it and then the final box itself. The brides sister saw it yesterday and I loved it. I just hope the bride and groom like it too!
