Thank you for my award

 

Last week  I  had another award. This was from Debs ( Freckleface). Thank you so much for thinking of me Debs and for visiting and always leaving lovely comments. So sorry it has been so long me posting this. I just don't know where the time has gone!!!!!

Ten things that make me happy are:

1. My husband always makes me laugh
2. Photos of Daniel when he was little. He always screwed his face up if he had to have his picture taken with his sister.
3. Videos of Emma and her friends when they were little being Spice girls.
4. The oohs and ahhs from the kids at school when I show them what creative project we are making that week.
5. When the kids at school say I look nice even if I feel miserable inside
6. When I can tell that the children I  have been teaching literacy  now kmow how to spell a new word and are proud of themselves
7. Watching my niece experience sand and sea for the first time aged 2
8. Watching videos of Daniel when he was 6 when he dressed up as an old lady and walked through my videoing of Emma and her friends dancing and singing saying that he was too old for all of this. He wore a dress, scarf, shoes, bag and umbrella. I could blakmail him with this one day!!!!!
9. Reading the comments people leave on my blog
10. 3 days after my mum had her cancer operation, my mum and dad were arguing again. I knew that things were back to normal!!!!!

Love is in the air....................

We have a Lurve challenge over at Totally Gorjuss this week. Check out the fab cards by the DT.
For my card I have used My new Whiff of Joy stamp from Hotshotcrafts which I have coloured with Promarkers also from the same shop. The papers are Basic Grey and I have used the Heart Martha Stewart border punch which I love so much.The hearts were cut with Sizzix and then embossed.
 I am posting two cards. The first is the one I submitted  for the Totally Gorjuss DT and the second is the one I made in card class I held on Friday for my friend. It was her first easel card and she was so thrilled with it. She did a super job.

My first blog candy

Say it with flowers

Hi everyone. We have inset day at school today and teaching assistants don't have to go in. So you know what that means? More crafting!!!!!!!!!
I am doing a double card lesson in a bit for a friend so thoughtI would get this post in quick.
 The theme this week at Just magnolia is Love. I thought I would be a bit different and instead of having hearts I would have flowers. Well most of do like flowers Don't we?
I have used this lovely Tilda with flowers. The flowers spray at the side are various ones from my stash and I have added some Stickles to the rose. I have stamped a flourish around the edge and gone over it in Copic Atyou glitter pen for a subtle glimmer. You can't see it on the photo though.. My papers are K & Co.

More snow!!!!!

What is happening with the weather? We had blue sky and sunshine and literally 10 minutes later we had a blizzard! The snow was so heavy you could hardly see. I was in a shop at the time ( a craft shop actually. What a surprise) and had to stay a bit longer until the snow lessened. Of course that meant I had to but a bit more stuff. Oh dear. Ten minutes later brilliant sunshine and blue skies again.
However as I type up this post it is dark again outside and the snow is heavy. So glad I have plenty of crafting goodies to keep me busy!
Actually I have just finished another Exploding box for the same friend. She has just become a Grandma again to a little boy. So another blue box.
Well here are some of the cards I made in my marathon card make on Monday. I never had time to photo all of them  including the new Wild Rose studio stamps girl, dogs and cats.  Sarah has them for sale at Hotshotcrafts.

Another card marathon!!!

Sorry no post yesterday but the lovely Sarah at Hotshotcrafts rang me yesterday afternoon to ask if I could make up some card samples
"No problem" I said " i can come up now"
"Just one thing" She said
"oh what's that?"
" I  need them for tomorrow!"

You know Sarah likes to challenge me. So of I went. I was back home for 4.00 p.m. and by 10.00 p.m. I had made 29 cards! You can visit Sarah at the Hotshotcrafts stand at London Stitch and creative craft show, Excel

Furry friends

Come over to Totally Gorjuss and join in with our challenge this week. Net has put on a great sketch to follow and look at how my fellow DT have interpreted it.

For my card I have used  my new  Popcorn Bear with balloons. I have coloured with Promarkers. My papers are Cosmo Cricket and the border is Martha Stewart. ( well not her literally of course, she wouldn't fit on the card!!!!)

More flowers..... and a sad day

I think I have gone flower mad. I seem to be making a lot of cards and projects recently with flowers. I have a lot in my stash but bought a few more from Hobbycrafts. I have used some in my entry for Truly Scrumptious which is a sketch to follow ( check out Totally Gorjuss tomorrow too!!! nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
I have used one of my older images, coloured with Promarkers and the papers are Papermanias " Capsule"
The border is Martha Stewart. I distressed the papers with a paper distresser. I have also noticed that I have been using blue a lot. So this must be my " blue" period. Wonder what colour I will choose next.

Well it was a sad day today. A few weeks ago I told you that a girl Daniel went to school with died. Actually she took her own life, just aged 18. The funeral was today. Apparently there were over 500 in attendance. Many of her school friends from Infants, Junior and senior school as well as teachers were there.
 I hope this support helped her family through this very tragic time. My thoughts are with them all of them

Tri shutter card

Here is another card I made for a teacher at school. He wanted an unusual card for his wife and well you have to admit that a Tri shutter card is not a normal card.

Anyway he really liked it. I have used some Papermania papers from my stack as are the flowers. and the sentiment is computer generated and then cut out with a Nestie

baby boy exploding box

Just thought I would show you an exploding box I had to make for a girl at work. Her niece has just had her first baby so here is the box I made. They liked it so I was very pleased

Cupcakes!!!!!

I seem to have been so busy that I have only just had the chance to show you what we were maiking in Saturdays Card lesson.....Cupcake cards.
I have a new Sizzix cupcakes die. We used different materials. Some of the girls used really glittery, sparkly paper for the cup case and icing and they were really spectacular. Unfortunately I can't show a pic as I haven't asked them permission to show their faces on the blog. However everyone one of them loved the cards they made. Some were able to make a couple in the hours lesson. I am doing the same class for those who are coming to Tuesdays lesson.
Anyway here are my cards. Some of them still need finishibng off with a few more embellishments or sentiments but you get the idea

Sugar Bowl challenge

We had a bit of snow over night here but by this afternoon it had all gone. However it is soooooo cold. My first thought is to go and eat something but I have got to lose that weight!

Well on to all things crafty. There is a great sketch at the Sugar Bowl and you have to include "lace". I have used some of my Gorjuss Girl stamps which I coloured with Promarkers. The cream lace I bought from Hobbycraft and the sentiment is computer generated. I love the border, it is my new Martha Stewart punch. I think I will use it a lot!

I missed club anya

Oh dear. I just missed the deadline for Club Anya even though I made the 3 days ago.
Moral: Never put off what you have to do!!!!!!

Hearts and flowers and Love!

Well 3 days and I haven't lot any weight! Well I haven't tried that hard yet. I am breaking myself in slowly!!!!!!!

Here is a card I made using a Tilda, Magnolia stamp which I have coloured with Promarkers. I decided to use blues again. The big heart I have embossed and put on some tiny gems. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves I made with a punch I have had forever. I penned in some faux stitching and distressed the edges of the Papermania, Capsule papers and voila!!!!

Consultants update
Well I visited the consultant yesterday. He looked in my throat and said "WOW". Was this a good wow or a bad wow?
Turns out my tonsils are enormous for a women my age and there is not much space at the back of my throat (never stops me eating though!!!) I need to have them removed and something else cut away. BUT to make the op. effective I need to lose...........about 2 stone!!!!!
Well girls I will have to do it. I am 12 stone 4Lb at the moment. So I need your help. Keep telling me to be good. I will keep you informed on my progress

Passion for Promarkers

Well my son is still talking to me after I used his face to grace the cover of a magazine for the Digital Doodling challenge ( just scroll down to see his face... If you dare!). Well he has always wanted to be famous.
He took it in good spirit so that was good and I did ply him with drinking chocolate. Works every time.

Here is my card for Passion for Promarkers where the colour combo this week is pastel green and blossom. My stamp is from Funky Kits. The papers are Cosmo Cricket and I have embossed the red piece. Flowers are from my stash.

Digital Doodling: another challenge but with a difference

I stumbled across this great challenge Digital Doodling. It involves putting a photo you have onto the front cover of a magazine. I have used a pic of my son Dan ( I may not be his mother much longer when he sees this!!!). We were in Central Park last summer. Right from a little boy he has always made silly faces when I take photos. This is what you get for messing with mum.
The site you have to visit is 'Magmypci'
The pic can be funny, cute or romantic. Guess which one this is???!!!
The prize is 2 Sugar Nellie stamps.
Are 2 Sugar Nellie stamps worth the loss of my son????? Depends what mood he is in. He is still a teenager after all.

Anyone for Anya - heart 4 heart's sake

Tomorrow I have to go see a consultant to see if I need a minor op on the back of my throat. Just a quick day job.....shame, no time off work!!!!! Will it stop me talking and eating.....Nah!!!!! Probably need plenty of Ice Cream though.


What a great theme at Anyone for Anya - hearts. I have used a digital Anya image coloured with Promarkers.. The heart shape is cut with a Sizzix dies, embossed and then sanded. The tickets are also a digital download. The chipboard flowers I have covered with crackle glaze.

Papertake Weekly challenge - sketch #33

There is a nice to sketch to follow at Papertake Weekly.
I have used a digital image ( I think it was Grabadoodledo now Digistamp Boutique) which I have coloured with Promakers.The papers are Papermania and the sentiment computer generated. I have used my paper edge distresser on all the papers.

Simon says - punch it and DT call

This is my second entry for the Simon Says Challenge and DT call. Instead of a card I have made a table decoration using punches. It is my flower cupcake. The case is a Sizzix die. the flowers are held onto a polystyrene ball with pearl headed pins
What do you think of it? I am going to try a few more ideas with this later. I have already told my ladies who come to card class that we will be doing these soon. They seemed to like the idea.
