I have coloured a Tanda chipboard piece with red Promarker and then Glossy Accents. I couldn't resist using my new mini Tim Holtz stamps that I received this week. The image has been "Glossied" too.
It is fairly oplain but I think okay for a man!

A very special card

 

  

 It is my in laws 55th Wedding Anniversary today. They often ask me to make cards for them but for the first time my FIL asked me to make one for his wife. All he said was pastel colours and flowers.PANIC!
I love making cards...of course....but the moment someone asks for something specific....well you know how it is. You don't know what they have in mind. It could be completely different from my idea.
Any way I spent a good while putting this together. Then I decided it really needed a box too.
I am sooooooo pleased with how it turned out. I really hope she will like it.

A great day out at Stitches

What a great day we had at the Stitches show at NEC yesterday. I say we, my husband ( he who hates all things crafty!) took me. I don't think the day had quite the same appeal to him as it did for me!
I have put in my order for Sizzix. Wow what lovely dies and Emboss folders they have. Of course the new Tim  Holtz stuff if Fantastic.

 

 

 

 I did see Tim there but I was too late to see a demo by him as he was leaving for QVC. Have you seen the TSV they have. Mine is ordered!
Anyway back to Sizzix. I met the lovely Pete Hughes.

You know Tim gets a lot of coverage, well he is great isn't he? But Pete doesn't get the attention that I think he deserves. He was so helpful, very humble and he has some really fab ideas. I think I will set up a Pete Hughes fan club!!!!!
So here are some of my photos of the day.
I got to see Dawn ( Allpinkgirl) from Imagination. She is sooooooo glamorous. I felt a bit like a scruff next to her. She is a really lovely girl and so very talented. never got to get a photo with her.
I met up with Samantha too from Penrith Crafts .

We stood by each other last year at the Tim Holtz demo and never realised we were blogging buddies. So we arranged to meet up this year. Hi Samantha it was really lovely to meet up with you. Hope you had a safe journey home and a good nights sleep!!!!
I did a workshop . What happened to me!!!!!!!! It was like my Maths "o" Level all over again. Now I class myself as a fairly good, competent craft teacher and most of my work is of a fairly good standard. But in that workshop....oh my. I went to pieces.( The reference to my maths is that I could do the maths fine in class . The moment I was in an exam situation I went to pieces, blank mind, couldn't remember a thing ) I put my template upside down, I cut out the wrong pieces ....twice. I stuck things in the wrong places................
I wont even post a picture of it.
Why did this happen? any comments will be greatly received!
Well today I have my card group so hopefully "Sarah" is back to normal....whatever that is.

If you look closely you can see i have spread Stickles over the wings so that they shimmer

I cut the butterfly out twice with a MS punch. The top layer is half of the butterfly. It was then edged with Vintage Photo distress ink

The flowers are from my stash and the image coloured with Promarkers

Here is a card I have made for the LOTV challenge this week. The theme is favourite colours. I love this soft blue look.

Hearts cut with Sizzix Primitive heart, edged with Distress inks

Sizzix cut heart covered with Crackle Accents and allowed to "crinkle" up. Script stamp used for background.

 

This week I have been making various "heart" cards with my ladies. I have used Sizzix dies to either cut out hearts or make a heart aperture. In the aperture cards we wove strips of paper ( a great way to use up your odd bits of paper). Everyone seemed to enjoy the paper weaving. Have a good evening

Twisted easel Love card

Good morning everyone
It's Saturday so that means we have a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Any ideas what the theme is?
LOVE!!!!!!! Our sponsor is Crafters Companion.
I have made a twisted easel card. I have used my dotty paper ( again!). The heart was cut out with Nesties, I stamped a script over the top and then edged it with Fired Brick Distress Inks.
The smaller hearts are Sizzix die cut, embossed and distressed.I made a double bow

 

The flower was edged with Fired Brick Distress ink.
