I hope you all had a good weekend. It was very sad though, remembering the events of 10 years ago. I still get goose bumps and tears when I see those planes crashing into the towers.

On a lighter note here are 2 more of the Baptism cards I was commissioned to make. I wasn't sure what style was wanted so made several for them to choose from. These are 2 of the cards they picked.

I hope you like them too

on our own....first time in 23 years!!!!!!

I am very late posting this. I have been curtain shopping with Emma, did 2 card lessons today and then we took Dan back to Stoke with all his stuff for his second year at Uni.

It is really strange as tonight will be our first night alone in the house for 23 years!!!! now that Emma is married and Dan is back to Uni.  Perhaps I will have more time to craft!!!!
Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Totally Gorjuss. We want to see Manly cards. Now theses men can be difficult to make cards for but have a go. The DT have done us proud.
Thank you for your visit

Baptism card

The granddaughter of a friend of mine is getting baptised tomorrow and she asked me to make a card for her.

I made a few as I wasn't sure what style she would want. This is one of the cards I made.

I will post the others later ( I have got to go and cook the dinner!)

A card using just leftovers

I thought I would show you a card I made recently literally using scraps.
  • the white card base was cut with a Nestie from some left over card I used for stamping on 8cm x 15cm
  • the pink background card was a left over from a 12 x12 rickrack stack
  • the flourish was cut with a Cheery Lyn die from a scrap of red card
  • the butterfly was stamped and cut from another piece of scrap red card
  • the ribbon was a left over after a bow had been made
So what do you think? Perhaps I could do a competition this September. The best card made from scraps will win some candy!!!!!!  If you are interested please leave a comment

Hello Kitty

Well we are back at school and it is as if we have never been away!

Card classes resumed again after all the holidays. I had ladies card making, scrapbooking and bookmark making!
I made this Hello kitty card using a Sizzix die. By the way I have listed a load of Sizzix on my E bay, many at reduced prices.

This is a very quick and simple card to make.

I hope you like it. I will be back with more cards

Totally Gorjuss DT card #96 - a sketch

Good morning
Well life here is back to normal after weddings and holidays and it is back to school for me next week  and Daniel is back to Uni.
This week at Totally Gorjuss we have a super sketch for you to follow. Our sponsor is Joanna Sheen. Check out the rest of the DT as they have some super cards made.
For my card I have used one of the stamps I bought in Florida and a Cheery Lynn die ( I love these dies). The patterened papers are a Freebie from a card magazine this month.

I am sending this card to a friend of mine who is ill in hospital at the moment and awaiting the results of a biopsy. I hope all is okay

Speak to you soon

This is a picture of the sky over the beach beach at Ocean Drive , Miami. It is normally bright blue! . This was the tail end of hurricane Irene. After I took this photo it just poured and poured with rain. So no time on the beach and not a craft shop in sight. Only thing left to do was Eat!!!!!!!

I'm back!

Hi everyone
I am back after 2 weeks in Florida. We caught the tail end of Hurricane Irene whilst in Miami for 2 days. We kept watching the news. So many people have suffered from this hurricane.
Here is a pic of some of the crafting goodies I bought

I have to say I was shocked at how little card making items Michaels and Joannes had. Jewellery has really taken over. I didn't mind that as I am now into jewellery making. So I stocked up on some jewellery bits.

There were so many gorgeous beads!!!

I can't wait to start playing with these goodies.

CAS in white and blue

Here is another CAS card I made using the Stampin up Butterfly stamp and punch. I have also used the fab Cheery Lynn frond die too.I LOVE this die! I have cut the card blank ( using my Grand Calibur) at a funky angle for a change.
Tip:  Save all your scraps of card stock and paper and cut out leaves, branches etc using your dies and punches and store them in a box to use at a later date. The can make great "fillers" on your cards.

Speak to you soon and Thank you for taking the time to visit

This is a scheduled post.

At Totally Gorjuss this week the theme is As you like it. We are sponsored by Kenny K and all the DT have used Kenny K images.

I have used the Wedding dance image along with some Cheery Lynn dies ( I love these dies). The flowers were made from a Die-Namics die
I do hope you will play along with us

Follow the butterfly

Here is a CAS card I recently made. I love these scalloped edged cards as they make the finished card look so pretty. The fronds are Lavinia stamps and the butterfly is a Stampin up stamp and matching punch. . The butterfly trail is made from small clear gemstones.

I think this card can be used for a number of ocassions

have a great day

Blue beaded hair comb

Blue and pearl hand wrapped hair comb - £4.50 + p.p

I hope this scheduled post works as I am away on holiday.
This is a gorgeous hair comb. The photo doesn't do it any justice. All the beads are hand wrapped onto the comb. A great way to dress up an outfit.

I will be making different coloured hair combs soon as well as Bridal ones

Totally Gorjuss DT card - Cute and cuddly

HI
today at Totally Gorjuss our theme is Cute and Cuddly and we want to see an animal on your card. Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp.

Now rhino's are not known for being the most cuddly of animals but I think this from Magnolia stamps is just soooo cute. I have made a Congratulations easel card for a baby boy. The backing card stock I used was part of a gift I received from one of my lovely ladies, Maggie, after she had a visit to a craft store up north.

We hope you will join in
