Elegant Invitations

This is the card I made which I am entering into challenges.
Thought I would show you some cards I had my ladies making in Card lessons a few weeks ago. I am making these as Wedding Invitations although they can be used for  any occasion. My ladies put die cut flowers inside.  Should have taken a photo of that!!!!!
We call  the red one the "Argentine Tango", as the colours remind us of the dance from Strictly Come Dancing. How I would love to dance like them. Unfortunately I would be more like Ann Widdecombe!

They have done a great job. Dont you think?

Vintage style Paper mache Book blank

HI everyone
hope you are all well. I feel much better today. Not sneezing or coughing half as much although I look horrendous.
One of the good things about working with young children is they say what they think, good or bad. One little girl said "Miss, you don't look very well. You look pale" I said " I don't feel very well" Then she said " well I think you look beautiful, just like a flower".  Well you can imagine how that made me feel. There is no medicine available that can lift you up as much as that!

Anyway here is a little project I made for my demo at Hobbycraft last week. I bought a paper mache book blank and covered it with paper  and used Distress Inks around the edges.  Painted the inside with Acrylic paint and went around the edged with Gold Krylon pen. I cut out felt flower shapes from the Spellbinders Blossom die, the same die I used for the Wall Art project here. I inked up an embossing folder and put the cut pieces through my Big Shot. This give the "vein" effect on the petals. I edged the flower with gold Stickles. The leaves were cut with Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die and then covered with Crackle Accents.

This box can be given as a gift or used to put bits of jewellery in.

I hope you like my little project

Have a good weekend.  I am looking forward to Strictly and X Factor..............................

Cowgirls Sunday Challenge DT card

This is the 2nd card I made for Cowgirls Sunday Challenge. Silly me didn't read the rules correctly and I made a card NOT using one of CJ's images.!!!!! So I made another one last night with a correct image!. The theme for this week is Sherbert./Ice Cream and I chose Tiramisu (coffee and cream) as my flavour inspiration.
My ingredients for the card are
  • DCWV All about Boys Stack ( my bargain from Dunelm...remember?)
  • "Boots" image from Cowgirl up digital ranch
  • Sizzix cactus and Yee Haw dies
This is the first, incorrect card I made. I hope you like both of them anyway
Enjoy the sunshine

Lovely Hanglar only card

Hi girls. What has happened to the sunshine?
We were in touch with Emma yesterday. She is worse now with pain in both ears. She can hardly swallow and has spent the first 2 days of her holiday in bed!!! We told her that she shouldn't go but she really didn't want to spoil things for her friend Hayley who she went with. Mike and I went to the Gardeners World show at the NEC yesterday and we rang her. It was so upsetting to hear her crying and saying that she felt worse. To top it the weather is bad in Gran Canaria and her hotel not so good either. I just wisg she had taken our advice but you know what young people are like these days. Perhaps we were the same when we were her age too.
This is my card for the great new Lovely Hanglar Only Challenge blog. The theme is Shabby Look.
I have coloured the image with Copics. The papers were from Poundland. The BOY was cut out of chipboard with a Sizzix die and coloured with Adirondak daubers. I also used my sewing machine on it. Definitely a shabby look!!!!
Hope you like it.
I'm off now to continue preparing for tomorrows Scrapbook workshop I am holding

Chi Chi Memories DT card

Natalie at Chi Chi Memories sent me this lovely image which you can get here:
http://www.chichimemories.com/digital-stamp-set---happy-daddys-day.html
Instead of making a card I thought I would make a gift bag, or very fancy sandwich bag!!
I coloured the image with Promarkers matted it onto some cardstock with the corners punched with MS punch. The top of the bag is cut from a Sizzix die and folded in half and then I attached 2 Hearts cut from the Sizzix Primitive hearts die.
I hope you like this idea

Small gift bag

Emma and I recently made a necklace and matching ear rings for a friend. I decide it would be nice to give them to her in  a little gift bag. So out came one of my Sizzix dies and I made this little bag with the scalloped edge. The leaves were made from a punch and the flower from my stash. Finally i tied a ribbon around the top to hold it in place. Cute?

A girl can't have too many handbags!

I was watching Create and Craft this morning (Shock, Horror) and they had Polka Doodles on. Now I don't know the ladies name but she showed a handbag made out of a template on her CD. It was lovely. Then it made me think, I have a Sizzix DL die of a layered banner. This looked the same shape as the panels in her bag. The largest part of the die looked the same shape as the panels in her bag. So I got out my die and cut out some of the shapes with some Basic Grey papers I had. I creased the outer edge of the two long sides and folded the scored bits outwards. Then I stuck them together. My tape didn't hold too well so I ended up stapling it in some parts( Don't look too closely)
For the handle I cut 4 hinges from my Tm Holtz Hardware Findings die. I glued to together and then a brad to attach it to the bag itself. The Banner die automatically cut some holes in the banner shapes so I threaded some thin ribbon through it. I would have used brown ribbon but unfortunately I tidied up. Fatal! It always means I lose things for months!!!
Any way here is the end result.
Please remember it is only a quick make so please don't be too critical. It took me about half an hour to make.
This bag could be made for real if you used material as the die will cut through material too.
Have a good evening

Totally Gorjuss DT card #31

Well it is challenge #31 at Totally Gorjuss this week. And we want Bling, Bling, Bling!!!!!So Bling it on!!!!!!!

The DT have done some great cards so check them out
I have used  an image sent to me by my blogging friend Samantha. Hi Sweetie/ The lacey ribbon is also from her. I have used papers from my stash. The hearts are from my new Sizzix die Primitive hearts. These are a fantastic shape and can you believe they are now discontinued. A big mistake I think. You can buy it here. I cut the hearts from matboard and coloured them with 3 shades of Promarkers. The image was edged with a Martha Stewart punch. Finally I added gems to the flower centers, loopy bits on the image and on the heart. By the way the gems were rhinestones which I coloured yellow with my Promarkers. I look forward to reading your comments if you have the time
Have a lovely Saturday

Say it with flowers - papertake Weekly

Good morning everyone
Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine.I am full of a cold today....not surprised though as i spent all of test week last week with 3 children who coughed, sneezed and blew their noses for England!!!! However I have to pull myself together and get on with some orders for more Exploding boxes. I have 4 to make, 2 for the smae wedding. And I need to get on with my little gift for my  blogging pal Samantha. I said yesterday that I made a card with some of the goodies she so kindly sent me. However I have made the card for next weeks Totally Gorjuss challenge so I can't show it until Saturday

This morning I am showing a card I made for Papertak Weekly - say it with flowers. I Have used the super Sweet Pea stamp I won as blog candy from another great blogging friend, Angela. I have made an easel card and covered it with papers from Papermania. The frame is cut from a Sizzix die, as are the leaves. The shape on the base is the "sign" part of the Tim Holtz hanging sign die and the flowers Wild Orchid crafts.
Speak to you soon and thank you for taking the time to comment
