Grungepaper flower Scrapbook

This is the front cover of the scrapbook. It was for some friends celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary

The flowers are made from Grungepaper. Cut with a Sizzix die and coloured with Distress inks. Then I stamped over them randomly
The word Treasure was cut from mat board with a Sizzix phrase die
The leaves were made the same way as the flowers. Another Sizzix die
Close up of the flowers
A secret page inside
This page had historical and general information about what happened oh this day (10th August) in history. I burnt the edges with a flame from a candle.

Close up of the hinges and Fleur de Lys. Cut fron Grungepaper,  put through an embossing folder and distress inked.

A DVD was made of the surprise party held for them. I made this matching  DVD box with another Sizzix die and used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die to create the hinges

Rear view of DVD box

I really enjoyed making this project. I am helping some of my ladies who come to card classes to make their own version of this scrapbook now

Well I said it was a long post but I do hope you enjoyed it and that it has inspired you to have a go.
Sizzix dies dies are available from me
Everything else used is available from Sarah ( another one!) at Hotshotcrafts
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment if you have the time

Silver hearts

Here is a card I made a while ago. I used a  pearlised card blank.  I cut out several hearts, different styles and sizes, then embossed them . Some lace on the center of the card and then the hearts foam mounted. Easy!!!
A great way to use up expensive scraps of mirri board!

Place card settings

We are going out for a meal and show with my husbands company on Saturday and I was asked to make the Place card settings.
Here they are. Very simple. The names were printed on the computer. the leaves have been cut with a Martha Stewart punch and the flowers were some I bought ages ago from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I just hope I have spelt everyone's name right!!!!!

Card for fun

Here is a card  I made a short while ago.
The stamp is one I bought at the NEC. The scroll work had been done with a Tim Holtz On the edge die. I have used Distress inks to age the card and added Faux stitching. I have also used Glossy Accents for the water in the vase. It's a bit different don't you think?

Thabnks for taking the time to look and leave a comment

Totally Gorjuss DT card - Hot Colours

It is so cold at the moment so at Totally Gorjuss we thought we  could warm you up by getting you to make a card or project with HOT COLOURS. The sponsor this week is Crafters Companion.
I have used another collage stamp. This one is Artemio and you can buy it here. I have used my Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Wild Honey. You can buy these here. I cut the image up into equal pieces and mounted them on foam pads with a small gap between them to give the tiled effect

Going vintage

I have been on a school trip all day and feel worn out. Why do school trips make you feel so tired? Still all the kids loved it. We looked at planes and life and school in WW2. Tonight we are going to see Jules Holland and gang at the Birmingham NIA. The show was postponed due to severe snow in December,. I just hope I can stay awake!!!!!
I only had 1 of my ladies come to card class today so I changed the planned lesson. Instead we used a vintage style stamp I bought from the Hobbycraft sale and a Sizzix bird die along with my Distress Inks and Promarkers. And here is the result.
Thank you for visiting and taking the time to say hi

How amazing! Can you believe this?

Yesterday morning we were at a Fayre at a hotel in Bridgenorth. I saw this woman and immediately recognized her as a friend of mine back at Senior school in Birmingham. We hadn't seen each other for 32 years!. She really didn't look any different. It really was amazing. She is now married with a daughter and she and her husband have a wedding photography business in Stourbridge. What is really weird is that I was thinking about her in the morning when I was putting on my make up,. I didn't like my mascaras and remembered the best one I ever had was in a yellow container called California and I bought it from  her as her dad used to have a market stall selling make up and perfume.
 Isn't life strange!

Today I have a Hanglar card to show you for the Lovely Hanglar only challenge.  A boy card for a change. The theme is anything goes.
Hope you like it
Thanks for stopping by

Totally Gorjuss #63 - cuddly

Hi every one
my marathon card making session is over, but I need to prepare for card class this afternoon.

I have also sorted out a huge stack of stamps I want to sell. My ladies are looking at them today but if any of you can help me I would like to put them on my blog with Paypal. There is a variety of stamps and I am selling them for between £1 and £3 for a single stamp and I have sets too. I thought I would offer them to any of you who are interested before I put them on Ebay.

Here is my card for Totally Gorjuss this week. The theme is CUDDLY. I have coloured Popcorn Bear with Prisma Colours. After so many cards this week I could only manage a simple card. Perhaps the sponsor should be Simple Simon?!
Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp
Can't wait to see your cuddly cards

Not too bad
A bit untidy

Oh dear

No wonder I can never find anything!

Hi everyone. A big thanks to all of you who have commented on my marathon card making sessions. Your lovely comments have certainly kept me going. At this point I have made another 8 this morning, that leaves 19 to go! ( that's 68 made so far). It is my day off school so I am hoping to finish them all.
Here are some more samples and some pictures of my work desk ( actually it is my kitchen...plenty of room and close to the food and drink!!!) I know WOYWW is supposed to be Wednesday but as usual I am always late!
Aren't I a messy worker!
