Vintage style Paper mache Book blank

HI everyone
hope you are all well. I feel much better today. Not sneezing or coughing half as much although I look horrendous.
One of the good things about working with young children is they say what they think, good or bad. One little girl said "Miss, you don't look very well. You look pale" I said " I don't feel very well" Then she said " well I think you look beautiful, just like a flower".  Well you can imagine how that made me feel. There is no medicine available that can lift you up as much as that!

Anyway here is a little project I made for my demo at Hobbycraft last week. I bought a paper mache book blank and covered it with paper  and used Distress Inks around the edges.  Painted the inside with Acrylic paint and went around the edged with Gold Krylon pen. I cut out felt flower shapes from the Spellbinders Blossom die, the same die I used for the Wall Art project here. I inked up an embossing folder and put the cut pieces through my Big Shot. This give the "vein" effect on the petals. I edged the flower with gold Stickles. The leaves were cut with Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die and then covered with Crackle Accents.

This box can be given as a gift or used to put bits of jewellery in.

I hope you like my little project

Have a good weekend.  I am looking forward to Strictly and X Factor..............................

  2. Cool Sarah, love the flower on it.
Ofsted went well - just shattered now but off to a local pub who have a beer festival on, so that should release the tension.
Sorry you haven't been well but love the little girl's comment - out of the mouths of babes and all that.
    Enjoy your weekend.
    luv and hugs {brenda} xoxox
