Getting ready for the wedding

Emma and I went to town today as she said I could NOT wear black to the wedding ( she is bridesmaid to her friend tomorrow). I ALWAYS wear black!
We looked everywhere and I tried on lots of things and although I have lost 1 Stone so far I looked awful in so many out fits.
Well in the end I did buy a long dress and guess what? It's black!
I have some amazing shoes too. Just hope I can walk in them. Mu hair attire and bag are light grey. I will post a photo ....if Blogger works!!!!!

Wedding Card and some sad news

On Friday Emma is bridesmaid to her friend Roxanne. We all had our nails done last night ( 5 of us...it took the poor nail lady 5 1/2 hours!!!)
I am still feeling rough, coughing, sneezing and sore throat. So I hope I improve by then.
Here is the card I made. However I don't like it so I am trying to think of what to do instead.

I have even more dies on Ebay now and I still have a few more to load. If you click on this Ebay image it will take you to one of the dies I have on sale and you can find the others from there.

Now for my sad news. My mum has just rung me to say that my dad's sister, Judith, has died. She was Dad's youngest sister. He hadn't seen her for many years because she lives in Goa, India. Naturally dad is very upset and I will ring him later to see how he is doing.

Here is my missing Totally Gorjuss DT card and I have tonsilitis .....again!

At last I have uploaded my TG DT cardas Blogger is now cooperative. This is for yesterday post
Dan came home this weekend  which was lovely but he has Freshers Flu and I have been unwell too with I think Tonsilitis again. I have a fever, burning eyes, sore throat and headache!
Hopefully some more Lemsips and a good nights sleep will help

Totaly Gorjuss DT card Challenge #49

I would have attached 4 pictures to this post, but Blogger is playing up. Is anyone else experiencing problems? I'll put them on as soon as Blogger is being cooperative, so please keep checking back!

As many of you know I don't celebrate Christmas so it can really be a "challenge" to make a card when the  Challenge is Christmas. Does that make sense?
The challenge at TG this week is "Christmas" so I have done a winter card. So don't feel you can't join in if you don't celebrate or have specific Christmas stamps, papers etc.
I have used an Embossing folder of 3 jolly snowmen and papers from my stash. The "winter Chill" is from some Tags I downloaded and I have made the embellishment in the corner with ribbons, Sizzix die and flower embellishment.

Card made by a 3 year old

  Just had to show you this card our 3 year old niece, Keren made for our anniversary.Beware craftland we have a budding cardmaker here!!!
She knows where I keep my Big Shot and when she visits always askes if she can make flowers!!!!!!

Sympathy card

 

It's unfortunate that we crafters have to make sympathy cards at times. Generally we do them in white and black but I thought for a change I would go for a softer look.
I have made this card using a new Spellbinders die which I have coloured with Distress Inks. I have just stamped 2 words, Faith and Hope. I don't think I need to put anything else on it. Finally I have used some Organza ribbon to soften the look.

I would love to read your comments on this card if you have the time

Kenny K card #11

At last I have made a card for the Kenny K Krafty Girlz challenge. This week the theme is STITCHES. I have used the soccer image with Tim Holtz papers. The image is coloured with Promarkers and edged with Distress Inks. The ticket stubs were a digi download but I forget where from.

Totally Gorjuss DT card challenge# 48

I have really lost my flow with cards since I came back of holiday, so I have tried really hard with this one. I have tried out the new Tent card style. This is my DT card for Totally Gorjuss this week where our theme is "Wild Thing! "The sponsor this week is Crafters Companion
The image is one I had from Magnolia which I have  stamped onto water colour paper and coloured with Aquamarkers. I have also used embossing folder and Distress Inks as well as various Sizzix dies.
Please look at the other DT cards too as they have worked hard on them.

These cards are so easy

Thought I would show you some very quick and cheap cards to make.
Remember the post I did the other day about the cheap flowers you can buy?
All I did was matted some black card, that I embossed using an embossing folder and Big Shot, onto silver card.
I attached it to a card blank. Then I stuck on one of the lovely big flowers from the pack and added a black and silver embellishment by Gliterratti ( Hobbycraft )
I made all thse cards in about 15 mins and they are really cheap to make.
You could make a set of 5 or 6 like I have done and give them as a gift to someone.

2 very different cards

Hello on a very wet Tuesday afternoon
Most of my ladies are on holiday this week so only 1 came to card class today. She made a card for my son who is of to Uni on Saturday. I made a sympathy card for a friend who lost his Grandmother and then another card just for fun.

I have kept my card clean and simple this week. The sentiment is from one of my bargain box of stamps as is the green paper( see yesterdays post). I have used some of my new Nesties squares with a scalloped edge. Gorgeous isn't it?

2nd post of the day.

Because I have been away on holiday I have missed a couple of the Totally Gorjuss challenges. I did manage to schedule some of them.
So I thought today that I would get back into the swing of things and get my card ready for Saturdays challenge, a lovely sketch. I used the new Kanban Urban Belle stamp and some paper piecing.
WRONG!!!!!!. That was last weeks challenge. Silly me didn't read the blog properly.So here is the card that should have been for last weeks challenge, The Sketch!!!!!!!!
Back to the drawing board!!!

Bargains!!!!!! TK Max and Hobbycraft

Just thought I would let you know of some bargains I came across this week.
If you have a TK Max near you then pay them a visit. I bought some great scrapbooking papers, ribbons, buttons and stamps from them this week.

The 40 sheets of A4 paper by Making Memories was £2.99!! I have used it on my DT card for Totally Gorjuss which I will post on Saturday. The box of stamps cost £9.99
They also had a stack of scrapbooks and scrapbook kits too.

Then I had these bargain bags of flowers from Hobbycraft for £1.99 each!!!!! At that price you can afford to be a bit more extravagant with them.
Hope you manage to get to these shops and pick up a bargain.

Hi everyone I am back!!!

Hi girls and boys.
After what feels like a lifetime I am back from my hols.We had a fantastic time time in New York and then on a Caribbean cruise!. I will post a few pics on my blog soon.
Thank you to those of you who visited and left comments while i was away. My scheduled posts worked so I was pleased about that.

It has been  hectic since we got back last Monday night. Tuesday lunchtime Sarah at Hotshot Crafts asked me to make 54 cards for 3.30.p.m. the next day !!! And I had to start back to school the next day too!By Thursday I had what I now think was a migraine which lasted 2 days. I wasn't fit for anything ( no change there then!)

Her are the photos of some of the cards I made last Tuesday.Unfortunately with such little time given I don't get the chance to be very adventurous with the cards. Buy I hope you like them any way
I shall start to trawl all your blogs now to see what you have all been up too
