Here is a card I made for  a teacher who has recently left. She came to card lessons a few times with some other teachers so I knew she would appreciate a handmade card. She did like it
Hope you like it too.

Did you guess right in my little teaser?

Thank you to those of you who tried to work out what I used to make theheart on a recent post. All I said was I used a heart Nestie to cut it out.
Several thought it was a christmas lights die, some thought Pennants or border punch.
Well before I tell you what I used I will tell you who came closest

Cardmaking bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marie...............................Congrats!!!!
Marie said
"The left over bits from a border? It looks fab whatever it is! Mxx  "

Well it was left over bits and it was a border. This is what I made it from
I cut the rick rack border off . I then layered it on some card starting from the bottom and working my way up. Finally I cut out the heart shape using a Heart Nestie.
Never throw anything away. You never know what ideas you can come up with.
The effect  made me think of Owls wings.

So Marie, can you email me your address and I will send you a little gift in the post

Totally Gorjuss DT card - String!

Happy weekend to all of you. What is the weather like by you?
This is a timed post so by now I will know who has one American Idol. The 2 young singers, Lauren and Scotty are fabulous. In fact they make a great duo!I don't mind who wins.
At Totally Gorjuss this week we want you to use string on your cards. No problems I thought until I started to make mine! The sponsor this week is Horseshoe Crafts

I have wrapped string around my card twice. What connection string has with a boy astronaut I don't know . But in Blogland anything is possible
I have coloured one of my new LOTV boy stamps (with the new Marvy Le Plume alcohol pens.)  Aren't they just adorable. I wish I was on their DT so that I could play with them all the time. The ticket ( you need one if you are to travel in a  space rocket) is a Magnolia stamp.
I have made a few other boy cads so I will post them soon.

Have you answered my teaser on the previous post? I will be sending a little prize to the winning answer

Thursday 26 May 2011

Can you guess what I made this with?

Here's a teaser for you
Can you guess what I have used to make this heart? I have cut it out with a Nestie
If there is more than one correct answer I will pull a name out of a bag and send the winner a little gift
Please spread the word
Can't wait to see your answers!

A striking Wedding Card!

My SIL recently asked me to make a wedding card. She had seen a card I made (which I will post tomorrow) with these 2 striking colours and said they were the colours of the bridesmaid dresses.

So out come some Spellbinders and Distress inks and a card was born. Not your traditional wedding card but she liked it
I hope you do too

A really good evening..........................and something new

Hello
Last night we went to the screening of some of the films picked from the first and 2nd year students at Stafford Uni, Stoke Campus. Daniels was the first individual film shown. It was really strange seeing it on the Big screen instead of the computer. We were very proud. Above is the award he received.
In fact all the films shown were excellent. All students should be proud of what they have achieved. The students whose films were screened received an award from the Dean of the Uni. The first time she had attended a screening

Now for something new
The new trend is to use Safmat by Letraset in your craft projects.
An acid free, self-adhesive, transparent film for use with your desktop printer.
Safmat film is virtually invisible when applied, so only your printed text or image can be seen!
Suitable for Inkjet printers or black and white Laser printers.
I did have a problem though. One sheet got caught up in my printer and it took of the whole sheet of film and it got stuck in side . I had to take the printer apart to release it.
NOTE . Make sure you put the Safmat into your printer correctly with no edges lifting!!!!!

Hope you find this interesting
hugs sarah x

Here I have stuck the Safmat straight on to some poly plastic sheeting to make a bookmark in
I have stuck the Safmat sentiment onto Seam Binding. I should have cut around the wording first so that you couldn't see the film. Naughty me!!!
Here I have printed my Blog Profile straight onto Safmat and then adhered it to white cardstock

Daniels film has been picked for a screening!!!!!! oh and a Flower card!

I am excited to say that Daniels first short film has been picked to be screened on Wednesday at Uni (Stoke campus). We are all going over to watch it.. Not sure if there will be a red carpet!
Thank you to all of you who have viewed it and/or commented on it.

On Saturday I had my my lovely ladies making cards with a set of Hero Arts flowers stamps.

We used the new Tatty Teddy papers to cover our card blanks and to stamp the flowers onto. We cut out the flowers and then shaped them adding them to our cards. We all made very different cards. Isn't it  amazing how you have a group of people with the same papers and stamps yet what we do with them is so different. On mine I have also used a Tim Holtz sentiment stamp. I added some jewels and there it is!

I have delivered the Pie boxes for a wedding order so hopefully I will have a bit of time now to visit all your blogs
Have a good evening

Can I ask a MASSIVE favour from all my blogging friends?

This is a repeat post as I accidentally deleted the original one!

Hi everyone

As some of you know my son is studying Film Production and Media at Staffordshire University. He has just completed a 3 minute film that he has written, produced, directed and filmed himself. He has also designed his own DVD cover.

Can I ask a MASSIVE favour from all you dear blogging friends. Would you watch his film and leave a comment on this post. Any positive comments or constructive criticism would be very much appreciated by him and I know it will boost his confidence too.

He may be the new Steven Spielberg!!!. You can always say you had a hand in his career!!!

Thank you so much

Sending you lots of love

Good afternoon
Here is a card I made a while back. I don't think I have shown it before. I have used Distress Inks ( which I love). The base "stopper" was cut out from a Sizzix die . I have decoupaged the butterfly and Stickled it. I have also put some Stickles on some of the ferns

I really enjoy using Distress Inks. If you haven't tried them yet, give them a go. They are on offer here

Enjoy your afternoon
