Crafty afternoon with my little friend

I have had a lovely afternoon with a friends daughter. We went to McDonalds...yum, yum!

We made lots of cards and boxes which we filled with lots of different sweets. We did eat a few along the way. Don't tell any one!
I think she has done  a great job. Don't you?

My 2nd Sweet peas stamps easel card

I am loving the challenge at Sweet Pea Stampers so much. The theme is Easel cards which I love making.I recently back several of their stamps and have had fun making the cards with them. I'm not sure if you are allowed to enter more than once though. I'm sure they will let me know.
I have coloured my image with Promarkers. The border and butterfly are MS. The butterfly has been slightly coloured with Old Paper distress ink.. I added some Stickles to the flowers. The papers have been distressed.

I hope you have the time to leave a comment

Sweet Pea Easel card

This card was to enter into a challenge for an easel card. But I now can't remember which challenge blog. I thought it had to have a sweet pea stamp on it but that blog isn't asking for an easel card. If any one knows which challenge blog I made this card for could you let me know please!!
I have coloured the image with Promarkers and I have used some of my new Nesties and Marianne dies
If you get the chance to leave a comment that would be lovely

p.s. I'm off outside to paint the front of the house!

Totally Gorjuss DT card #53

Here is my card for this weeks challenge #53 at Totally Gorjuss We want SPARKLE.  The sponsor is Crafters Companion
I actually made it from a set of glittery ( sparkle!) stickers I bought from a cheapy shop by me, The backing papers are from DCWV "boys" stack. I made 4 different boys cards so quickly. I don't think you can see the glitter too well though. But it is there, honestly!
Have a lovely weekend

My first PINK FRIDAY card

Well as promised here is my first card for Pink Friday. The new blog is open so please visit and become a follower. It is Pink Friday- to show you care.

The aim is to make a Pink card on a Friday to gave to someone who know is ill to cheer them up and let them know someone is thinking of them. ( although Pink is the colour for breast cancer the card can be made for anyone who is ill, not just cancer. Perhaps someone with depression, MS, a rough pregnancy etc)
If you are fortunate enough not to know anyone who is suffering you could donate your card to a Hospice or charity shop or just have it in a box at work.

I have seen the look on peoples faces when they have received a hand made card and they know that someone is thinking of them and wishing them well. It won't cure them but it can help.

I do hope you will join in. You can email me your card and I will put it on my blog ( until i set up the proper one ) or put it on your blog.

Please could you spread the word
Have a great weekend

( I will because we broke up today!!!!Yay!!!!!!!)

Pink Friday - New blog starting soon

Would you like to cheer someone up? Have you noticed how many people, sadly, suffer from Cancer?
My mum had breast cancer 10 years ago but after  a year long treatment of chemo and Radiotherapy she was cured and is alive and well today, thankfully.
So many of our dear blogging friends in the craft world have or are suffering or they have family and friends suffering.
I thought it would be nice to designate a day to make a "Pink" card that you could give/send to someone to let them know you care and that you are thinking of them. You could even donate it to your local hospice or charity shop

It is amazing how just receiving a card can cheer someone up so much. Like medicine in an envelope!

So, I am starting up "Pink Friday". The idea is that on a Friday you make a Pink card or Pink project.
You can Email it to me at theparadiseway@hotmail.com and I will show it on my blog. I will start up a new blog called "Pink Friday" if it catches on so that I can display all your beautiful cards

We can't cure cancer but together I think us crafters can put a smile on the faces of those who aren't feeling too good

I will post my first "Pink card" on Friday

Please let me know what you think of this idea. Could you spread the word too. Thank you

Magnolia Easel card

Here is a commissioned card. A girl who works with my husband asked if I could make a 40th Wedding Anniversary card for her sister. It had to be red (for Ruby) and she said they liked to read books.
As I am very much in Easel card mode the style was easy. I used a sitting Tilda and Edwin which I coloured with Promarkers. The books are also a Magnolia stamp which I coloured with PM's too. The papers are from my faithful dotty stack.
I am really pleased with how this card turned out.
This card also fits the challenge at Sarah Hurley challenges for whom I am GDT this month. The challenge is to colour in

Thank you for stopping by

Sunflower card made with Spellbinders

HI everyone. Thought I would show you a card I have made with my lovely ladies this week. I have used the Spellbinders sunflower  #2 dies
After I cut out the flowers I left them in the die and coloured them with Distress inks.
I shaped each petal and then built up the flower
I cut out  a shpe using my Sizzix Ornate Frame back #8
I coloured this with Distress Inks too
I made a traditional easel card, covered it with some dotty paper
I also used my new Hearts Spellbinders which I coloured the same way as I did the flowers/leaves.
A very easy card to make.
I hope you like it

I am making more today with another class

Totally Gorjuss DT card - Not a Square card!

It's Saturday so that must mean another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we want anything but a square card. So NO square cards please. The DT girls have excelled themselves so do check them out.

For my card I have made a round scalloped card using my Big Shot Pro and Pro Sizzix die. The girl image is from Kanban and has been coloured with Promarkers. The pink/mauve cardstock is also from Kanban.

We are looking forward to some interesting card shapes!!!!!
So go on, don't be Square...have a go

My first GDT card for Sarah Hurley Challenges

It's an exciting month for me as I am GDT for October at   Sarah Hurley's Challenge blog.
I got to choose this weeks theme and so I chose FLOWERS. I wear a flower to school everyday. I have about 20 different coloured ones. I also have flowers I wear in my hair on my wrist, on my earrings and necklaces too.

Anyway, here is the project I made. I covered a chipboard flower shape that I cut out with my Sizzix Pro. I covered it in some of Sarah's papers that you can download. I made the flower out of more of her papers and then I attached one of her downloadable 2011 Calenders. A very cheep and quick gift to make , don't you think?

You could make them, in various colours for your friends.

I also made a 2nd card using my Marianne Dies. I am loving this flower die so much as well as my Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die ( which I now sell!)
I added a few drops of Glossy Accents to look like raindrops on the leaves.

I hope you like these 2 projects of mine

Whiff of joy challenge card - sketch

Had a busy afternoon sorting out the finer details for a friend whose wedding invites I am making. I am also making Favour boxes, cake boxes and place settings.
If any one knows where I can get 100 sheets of 12 x 12 textured mid green cardstock, can you please let me know.
I have made this easel card for the Whiff of joy challenge, which is to follow a sketch by the talented Jane
I have used my new circle Nesties which I have distressed slightly. The image I have coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from my stash. I have made the flower using my new Marianne dies ( which I love. I have had all my ladies using them in card lessons). The centre piece of the flower was from The Hobby House. The leaves were made using the new Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die which I then embossed. Finally I added some Organza ribbon.
Well the sun is out here. I must go and make the most of it

Look what I saw from my kitchen window

What a surprise when we opened the kitchen curtains yesterday morning. There was a swan on our drive and it stayed there all day. We live on a small private estate and the swan was in between 2 of my neighbors gardens. It was a bit bothered as they maneuvered their cars carefully around it. One neighbor rang the RSPB. I am not sure if they came to collect it. I hope it is back with its family.

Last week I received an award from Brenda. It was a lovely surprise so thank you so much Brenda.
I am going to send it to all of my Totally Gorjuss fellow DT members. What a great and talented bunch of girls .
So here are 7 things about me.
  1. I cry at everything
  2. I am a big Donny Osmond fan
  3. I love flowers and wear a different colour one to school everyday
  4. I nearly always wear high heels
  5. I tend to burn dinner a lot ( too busy crafting, that's why!)
  6. My son can wrap me round his little finger with his little boy lost look ( He's nearly 20 !)
  7. I am TOTALLY obsessed with crafting!
Have a lovely evening

Wedding pics and my Totally Gorjuss DT card

  Emma - Bridesmaid
Although it poured down with rain all day yesterday we had a great time. When Emma and the Corinne, the other bridesmaid walked I started to cry. Then when Roxanne, the Bride walked in, she looked so beautiful, I cried again and when Ben, the groom got emotional I cried, yet again!!!! I don't know how I will cope when my 2 ever get married.
The venue was The Park Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield which was stunning. We left at midnight but many had booked in for the night. They asked us to stop too but we hadn't gone equipped with more clothes!

Emma looked beautiful. We felt very proud of her.
I even managed the day in THOSE shoes!!!!!!!
Here are a few pics from the day and at the end is my Totally Gorjuss DT card.
We want you to follow a sketch. Nice and easy! And guess what ? We have a GDT.....   BEV!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen
